Practical analytics for small teams

When your reports
don’t agree,
let’s find out why.

I help small teams reconcile spreadsheets, resolve reporting discrepancies, and build useful dashboards—so the next step is clear.

Where I can help

Less time untangling reports.
More confidence using them.

You already have information. The work is making it consistent, understandable, and useful.

01

Two files.
Different totals.

Compare shipments, returns, credits, or other exports. Identify missing records, duplicate identifiers, and mismatches using agreed rules.

A reconciliation you can follow
02

A report you keep
rebuilding.

Bring repeatable cleanup and checks into your reporting process. Make recurring exports easier to prepare and summarize.

A clearer, repeatable workflow
03

Lots of charts.
Still no clear answer.

Define what your metrics mean and build a focused Excel or Power BI report around the questions your team needs to answer.

A report with a purpose

A working example

Six claim entries.
How many shipped units?

Repeated serial numbers and formatting differences can distort a simple comparison. Try the sample below to see the checks.

Agreed sample rules: trim spaces, compare serials without case, and count each matching shipped unit once.

This example illustrates a method. An unmatched serial is a reason to investigate; the file alone does not establish why it is missing.

A straightforward process

A small project.
A clear way forward.

  1. 01 / DISCOVER

    Start with the question.

Tell me which reports you use, where the process breaks down, and what you need to know.

  2. 02 / DEFINE

    Agree on the work.

We define the inputs, matching rules or metrics, deliverables, price, and timeline before the project begins.

  3. 03 / HAND OVER

    Understand the result.

You get the agreed output, the checks behind it, and a walkthrough of what needs attention.

A manageable starting point

Start with one
clear problem.

A focused reconciliation, a reporting repair, or a useful summary can be a sensible first project. The scope comes from your data and the question you need answered.

Larger dashboards, new source connections, and ongoing automation are quoted separately.

FOCUSED REPORTING PROJECT

From $250

Final scope and price confirmed after reviewing a sample.

  • One agreed reporting problem
  • A checked output with visible exceptions
  • A short walkthrough and handover
  • One revision within the agreed scope

The person behind the work

Hi, I’m John Mocera.

I work with operational data and reporting every day: tracing discrepancies across systems, checking what the records mean, and making information easier for colleagues to use.

My experience includes Excel, Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate, with a background in returns, credits, and equipment-related operations. I bring that practical perspective to focused reporting projects for small teams.

A few practical questions

Before we start.

Do I need Power BI already?

No. We start with the reporting problem. Excel or Power Query may be enough; a Power BI report is useful when the questions and workflow call for it.

What should I send first?

A short description is enough: which reports you use, what does not agree, and what you want to understand. We can then agree on the sample information needed to scope the work.

What does the starting price cover?

The starting price applies to one focused reporting problem with an agreed deliverable. The files, complexity, revisions, source connections, and timeline are reviewed before a fixed quote is agreed.

Can you work with teams outside Long Island?

Yes. I’m based on Long Island, New York, and can work remotely. We agree on communication and delivery timing before the project begins.

Let’s look at the problem

What isn’t
adding up?

Tell me about the report, the mismatch, or the manual task you keep repeating. A few sentences are enough to start.
